SeeThisSpot is LIVE!!!

SeeThisSpot.com is the best way to search Instagram for photos in your current location.

My latest little side project is officially live, and I must say I’m pretty proud. This is the first time I’ve taken an idea from scratch and really followed through on making it happen. There’s a glimmer of hope that this will be my big ticket, selling for billions of dollars, but realistically I’d just like it to get noticed and used by a decent amount of people. So please check it out today, if you’ve ever been curious about Instagram photos taken in your current location, or any location for that matter, take a peek at seethisspot.com right now. It lets you search any location by dragging the dark circle, and you can change the search radius (up to 5km) by either typing into the text box at the top, or by dragging the handle on the right of the circle . Click ‘See it!’ and you’re away.

I already have a number of improvements in mind, and have in fact made plenty of changes since the site actually went live a couple of weeks ago, so keep checking back regularly for new features. In the meantime you can follow @SeeThisSpot on twitter and you’ll be sure to stay up to date.

Please let me know what you think, and here’s a sneak peak at some of the improvements to come:

  • Comment on photos
  • Removing the requirement to log in to Instagram unless you want to see more photos, or like or comment on any photos
  • ‘Save this spot’ – Keep a list of favourite spots that you can routinely check to see the latest photos
  • ‘Share this spot’ – Share your current location to facebook/twitter so friends can see what you’re seeing

There’s sure to be more, so keep the suggestions coming, exciting times ahead for SeeThisSpot!

    1. Thanks for your feedback Ronald. I will follow up with an email to find out more specifics about your browser & device you’re using to try to work out what’s going on, it’s very important to me that I get it working smoothly across as many platforms as possible, so thanks again!

      1. Safari 7.0.4 on Macbook Pro running 10.9.3
I enabled Location Services for 1 day only, when prompted, as it is off by default.

        1. Thankyou! I will need to provide some more helpful details about turning on location services if they are turned off on a users device. I’m adding this to my list of improvements right now. Cheers, hope you like the site 🙂
